Labourers of the Harvest

What an exciting month! During the month of March, we had the privilege of being in four missions conferences and ten churches. As we travel, it truly is encouraging to meet so many pastors and other missionary families and to see how God is working in and through their lives

After preaching in a Wednesday evening service this past month, my wife and I were greeting church-members and passing out prayer cards as the church emptied. This practice of course is very typical for us, but as more and more people left, I noticed a young man hanging back. After a few more minutes, he eventually meandered up to me wanting to talk. He then proceeded to tell me about how God had been working in his heart for the past several months about going into ministry, but he had been running from God’s calling. That Wednesday night though, God worked in this young man’s heart, and he told me how he had surrendered to full-time Christian ministry. While I realize that my preaching played only a small part, it truly is exciting to see young people surrender their lives to be labourers for His harvest.

Matthew 9:37-38 says, “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
