October 2019 Prayer Letter

The Nuts and Bolts

Just breath-taking. Words such as these are hardly, if ever, used to describe the nuts and bolts of any architectural wonder. Yet, as un-inspiring as these two may be, the nuts and bolts are an essential basic to any project, and so I give you our “Nuts and Bolts Report.” We have officially been on deputation for two-hundred and eighty-three days, which for those of you who prefer to avoid math, that is nine months of deputation. During this time we have traveled to twenty-five different states and presented in eighty-five different churches. I would put the number of miles we have traveled, but well, we will just
leave it at quite a few! Before we started deputation, my wife and I began to pray that the Lord would allow us to finish the deputation process in two years or less. This has been a prayer request that we have shared with many of you while on the road. While we know that are deputation journey is not complete, we are praising God for allowing us to be at forty-three percent of our needed support after only nine months! Thank you so much for praying with us. We know that these numbers are not a reflection of any special abilities or talents on our part, but a result of our God!
Ryan James McCormack was born on September 6, 2019, at 7 pounds and 21 inches. While some mothers script elaborate plans for their little one’s entrance into the world, with Ryan, well, it was truly just the nuts and bolts. Not that my wife had
planned Ryan’s birth this way, since I personally do not know many mothers who plan to have their child in the bathroom of a hospital with the father of the child delivering their baby, but well, that is how our little Ryan decided to enter into the world. I would love to say that all of my nursing experience prepared me for this moment, but in truth, as I saw my son completely still and blue, I know it was only by God’s grace that I was able to act. Ryan is now home and doing just great, and for that, we are praising God and thanking you, our friends and family, for all the prayers for our son.

Praises

  • Ryan was born on September 6, and both he and mom are doing great!

Prayer Requests

  • Safety as we travel, and as we adjust to having two little ones with us on the road.
  • For God to work in young people’s lives during the OG Conference on January 2-4, 2020.
